Is it Racist to oppose ILLEGAL immigration?

What’s the real cost of allowing illegals to mooch off of the system? Why should I follow the laws when illegals are allowed free access without the constraints of societal laws?

When Faith meets Facts

According to a recent, article in Scientific American Magazine “U.S. adults are less willing to accept evolution and the big bang as factual than adults in other industrial countries.”  The article goes on to say that ‘In short, religious beliefs require respondents to discard scientific facts”

The Church has a long standing issue with science.  To wit in 1633, Galileo Galilei, an Italian scientist, was delivered before the dreaded Roman Inquisition to be tried on charges of heresy. He was denounced, according to a formal statement, “for holding as true the false doctrine . . . that the sun is the center of the world, and immovable, and that the earth moves!” The statement went on to read that “the proposition that the sun is the center of the world and does not move from its place is absurd and… heretical, because it is expressly contrary to the Holy Scripture!” Galileo was found guilty and forced to renounce his views. Ill and broken in spirit, he was sentenced to a life of perpetual imprisonment and penance.

Almost 400 years later, When presented with the statement “human beings, as we know them today, developed from earlier species of animals,” just 45 percent of US respondents indicated “true.” Compare this figure with the affirmative percentages in Japan (78), Europe (70), China (69) and South Korea (64). Only 33 percent of Americans agreed that “the universe began with a big explosion.”

A graduate student in Georgia is suing Augusta State University after she was told she must undergo a remediation program due to her beliefs on homosexuality and transgendered persons. According to the school, “The Counselor Education Program is grounded in the core principles of the American Counseling Association and the American School Counselor Association, which defines the roles and responsibilities of professional counselors in its code of ethics,” the statement read. “The code is included in the curriculum of the counseling education program, which states that counselors in training have the same responsibility as professional counselors to understand and follow the ACA Code of Ethics.’ The Code of Ethics prohibits counselors from discriminating based on a number of factors, including gender identity and sexual orientation. “Counselors do not discriminate against clients, students, employees, supervisees, or research participants in a manner that has a negative impact on these persons,” the code says.

However, the student insists that her religious beliefs trump the science and the accepted code of ethics.

Quoting the Scientific American article, “I don’t know which is more dangerous, that religious beliefs force some people to choose between knowledge and myth or that pointing out how religion can purvey ignorance is taboo. “

What do you think?

Any Is More Than None

I worked as an outside sales rep for some people I won’t mention—a cutlery company. I sold knives and spoons and kitchen utensils. I drove people mad with my incessant offerings of buying another piece and getting some more shit free.

I worked at a fast food restaurant making 25 cents more an hour than was minimum wage. I made subs and sandwiches and salads. People drove me mad by coming into the restaurant in droves minutes before closing time. Fucking rude bastards.

I worked at a paint store. It was backbreaking, hotter than hell, mind-numbing work every fucking day. But it paid the bills. They all paid the bills.

I never accepted anything from the government. I never ask for an Unemployment Check.

And that is our topic today.

Get your ass to work.

If I lost my job—*knocks on wood*–and I knew I had someone that would just give me money you’d find me not working and not looking for a job. Until someone told me to get my ass to work or I’m not going to have any money? Then I’d go find a job.

So—and YOU KNOW THIS IS TRUE—what did our wise and benevolent president do? Signed off to allow more leeches on the system to keep leeching for a few more months.

Good job. Because that’ll inspire them to get a job. Why would they?

Sigh

They’re not going to get a job until they have to get a job. Get it right.

It’s as simple a making a sandwich. If someone always made your sandwich for lunch—why would you make a sandwich for lunch? You wouldn’t—until you had to because no one was going to do it for you.

Damn it I’m mad. I work my ass off—I suppose it’s a good thing since so many on welfare depend on me—and so many aren’t trying.

If you don’t like these words—Fuck You.

Get your ass to work. There are plenty of shitty jobs out there.

These are my words.

Porn Star Safety

OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) is holding hearing in California to determine if it’s necessary to tighten the laws regarding condom use on the sets of porn movies.  Their rationale is that because it’s a work environment, they have the right to ensure people are safe.  Just like they require people who work in construction of large buildings to wear harnesses so they do not fall, porn actors should wear condoms to keep themselves and their co-workers safe.  Needless to say, the actors are unhapy about the situation.  They feel the monthly screenings are enough to keep them safe, and that no one should be able to force them to wear a condom.  Gay porn stars are much more likely to wear a condom at work, straight porn actors rarely, if ever wear one.

The American Medical Association (AMA) agrees stating that it will also help the porn stars to become positive role models by wearing a condom.  Let me know if I’m wrong, but I think the other aspects of their chosen profession knock them out of the positive role model category.

I can see it now – Linda Lovelace calls a workers comp attorney because she got syphilis performing her required job duties.

Stressed? Have Sex!

The economy sucks right now and like most households, my household is dealing with the financial burden of a lay off. Though we can pay all of our bills, we really cannot do much else. I am currently the only one working right now, and knowing that adds a whole new level of tension to the mix. Traffic slowly drains the life out of me every morning and evening. Once I return home, there are countless errands to run, food to cook, messes to clean, blogs to write, it doesn’t end!
After a particularly bad week, my husband and I found ourselves alone and for once, not doing anything. Not because there was nothing to do, but because to continue at the rate we were going would cause us to lose our minds. We

were both slouched on the couch and looked like we had just driven through hell in a car without air conditioning. There were still things to be done- bills to pay, a lawn to mow- but as we looked at each other, we realized that one essential task was missing from our long list of shit to do. We had left out sex. Needless to say, we ripped each others’ clothes off and had the most fabulous sex only reserved for romance novels. But, the point I am trying to make is no matter how horrible your life seems to be, take the time tohave sex. It may allow you to escape for only a few minutes, but at least you escaped. At least you could forget all of your responsibilities to everyone else and could focus on your own pleasure. The shit hole we call life will still be there once your eyes have returned from the back of your head, you catch your breath, and your legs stop shaking. After you practice your horizontal tango, you can go back to doing the things that make you miserable. There is nothing like a good screw to bring a ray of sunshine into the drudgery of your day.
