What a way to run war!When a combat action is planned there is an assembly of fighting men to receive orders from their commanders at which time details concerning objectives, assignments, techniques, maneuvers, weapons, terrain features, maps, timing synchronization, coordination of efforts, and strategies are passed on. This takes a given amount of time even with the soldiers being very familiar with the pre-action planning process.
The shocking thing is the briefing process is not ended at this point, because now comes the disturbing part, which takes more than twice as long as the battle plan. The legal staff files in and takes over the meeting where they proceed to delineate all the detailed rules of engagement for every possible scenario. Thus they inform the soldiers that if they violate any of the afore mentioned rules they will suffer the full vengeance of a military court.
They are reminded of the fact that cameras are everywhere so they will not get away with anything even if it is instinctive. They should put SELF aside and operate above their survival instincts sacrificing themselves in patriotic service to their Country by obeying all the rules of engagement, which have been so carefully created by and passed down by our superior, glorious politicians, whose talents are confined to being reelected, lying and spending us into oblivion.
Is this not sickening? It is a plan for defeat and embarrassment. Our enemies catch onto these hand tying rules in a few hours and take full advantage of them thereby turning our soldiers into gun fodder. If our boys are sent to war let them win it as quickly as possible. Keep the lawyers out of it. Don’t make our soldiers behavior predictable making targets of them for the PC purpose of letting the bad guys gain advantages to compensate our media’s erroneous conscience because of unintended collateral damage caused by our actions. It has become like our children’s games where no one is allowed to over score on the opposition. ARE WE NUTS? WAR IS NOT THE PLAYGROUND.
