Spend My Money

August 10, 2010

So—we just had our fantastic Tax Free Weekend and for many it was fantastic.

It was a pathetic attempt to show people the government cares.

“No taxes this weekend”.  So?  On an $100.00 purchase you’ll save about $8.00.

Not much.  But it’s the idea that sucked people in…  Finally not having to Bend Over and pay the Man.

You really want to stick it to the man?  Vote.

That’s what holds power.  Sure.  Your money is driving much of this country and it’s your money that is backing many of the activities in this country but the end game is your vote.

Not much to say tonite.  Football season is starting up—damn it, already?—and JayeTruth is about to be a father of a Strapping Boy.

We found out it’s a boy today.

And at that I’ll have to reevaluate how I spend my money.

These are my words.

tax free weekend is nothing new and to parents buying school supplies it really does come in handy, because not only are there no taxes to worry about on all these items, many stores actually put on bigger sales. Hate to break it to you, but “voting” isn’t going to fix how stores function.
Seeing as how you are going to be a new father, I can gladly say that you will soon learn that ANY break money wise is a welcome deal, to you $20 difference may be nothing, but to the rest of us who have been at this for awhile, it’s a huge difference.

And voting….. hmmm….. yeah we all see how that fixes everything… especially since people who vote are only voting based on what the media says instead of doing any research on candidates.

Good luck on fatherhood, and welcome to a world where soon you won’t have time to worry over anything but the baby.
