Conviction. Passion. Belief. Courage. Words used to describe people with religious faith, imbued with religious thoughts and ready to spread and share how they live and what they believe in with the world. Or—let me clarify—those are the words that should be used to explain religion to nonbelievers. It seems that religion and its beliefs have gone the way of the Divx player… popular for a while and then slowly forgotten the way bands from the 90′s were momentary rock gods until the crowds grew fickle and found Something Else.
I am not here to admonish one group of believers or press my personal beliefs upon another group of individuals. I am here to encourage people to practice their beliefs. Do not be caught up in the chaos that is society. And make no mistake—this is a Christian Nation. No? So why are there so many Christian holidays that double as federal holidays? There is always an uproar concerning the separation of church and state come Christmas but these same business take advantage of Easter, Good Friday, Thanksgiving… the point is obvious. Decide.
The state of South Carolina turned down an attempt to get a license plate due to the fact that the individual wanted it to say ‘IBELIEVE’ with a cross following the letters. The individuals need to contest is under the premise of free speech, fight for their religion. This is a blatant attempt to control how a person shows their faith. If they would strike down the tags then the whole government of South Carolina should work on Christmas Day. Why not?
See the duality? See the failure? No one will commit to believing. No one wants to say to hell with the consequences, this is how we believe, how we feel, and we will not be silenced.
Find your conviction. Be proud. Believe.
