I am a Christian and I am opposed to the new Healthcare regulations.

Don’t get me wrong. I think everyone in this great country SHOULD get free, quality healthcare. However, the bill shoved through Congress is not the answer. For one thing, the amount your employer pays out for you in

healthcare coverage will now be taxed as income. Sound good?!

Adults with pre-existing conditions will not be excluded from coverage. Great idea, but it doesn’t take effect until January 2014. Coverage for people who have none won’t be available until 2014 and then it won’t be free.

The bill is just complicated and unfair, and it will create more government bureaucracy. This article explains it all, so you can judge for yourself.

If you want the best healthcare around, go to the Netherlands, not the US. That’s appalling. We are the greatest country in the world, yet our healthcare system is terrible. Shame on us.

Lizzie here. Annabelle won’t write about sex.

I cannot think of anything more hysterically funny than sex. My first time was in a Chevy Camaro going down Highway 41 in a thunderstorm. Dwayne’s crazy brother Ed was driving and I was drunk out of my mind on Boone’s Farm. I never should’ve worn that little sundress. Made access too easy.

The next day I woke up feeling like I had been hit in the head with a hammer about 100 times, and I was so sore I could barely walk. I decided next time I wanted to try something as much fun I would just grab a hammer to hit myself and try to do a split on concrete.

Sex, I have read, releases endorphins and is good for your skin, etc. etc. That may be true for some Glamour magazine editor in New York City who doesn’t know how to cook and hasn’t got to figure out how to pay for day care while working a minimum wage job.

Sex with men isn’t a whole bunch of fun, just to be honest. I prefer women. They are more considerate, less hairy, and they usually smell better. They want a commitment after one date, though, which just freaks me out.

I have about decided that this would be my ideal partner: an Asian man [they are far less hairy] who wants to keep it casual, works for a cosmetic company, and likes oral sex.

If he can make good General Tso’s chicken, I will marry him.

I tell my son when we can’t go to the movies or eat anything for dinner except baked beans that he damn well HAS to work hard in school and do better than his mama. Being willing to work hard just isn’t enough any more.

I hate to admit this but the last 10 days of my life have been extremely hectic. I was laid off from my job about 8 months ago and I just learned I cannot get unemployment. If I didn’t live with my sister, my son and I would be in deep shit.

The system doesn’t work.

I am busting my ass to find a job – ANY job – and there are people who lay around the house all day watching the soaps or playing on the internet, and they are getting a government handout.

There’s a guy I went to high school with whose granddaddy was a famous surgeon, and this guy, I’ll call him Richie, has a trust fund. He has worked some sales jobs, but was terminated or quit [I’m not sure which] his last job because he didn’t like the way the office was run. He also has every technological gadget known to man, including an iPhone. HE is getting unemployment. I am not. I do not understand this system.

I sure do wish I had paid better attention in school and gone on to college. All I know how to do is manual labor type stuff. I am good at fixing cars, but no body shop or tire place wants to hire a woman, especially not one who is small, like me.

If there is any good thing to come out of this recession, it’s this. I tell my son when we can’t go to the movies or eat anything for dinner except baked beans that he damn well HAS to work hard in school and do better than his mama. Being willing to work hard just isn’t enough any more.

Now, here’s what I call sort of a test to tell real Christians from fakes. See, to me, if you are a real Christian, the details don’t matter. I don’t care if Jesus was married or not. I don’t care if every word of the bible is literally true or not, although I don’t think it is. I don’t even think it’s important whether or not Jesus was conceived immaculately or from regular sex. If you are an imposter, you get all excited and wrapped up in these arguments, and you will fight about it to the death. I know, I dated a fundamentalist once.

He told me if I didn’t “accept Jesus into my heart” that I was doomed to burn in hell. I asked him to define that “accept Jesus into my heart” and he couldn’t. I said well, I’ve accepted Jesus’ teachings, and I believe he was the messiah. He said that’s not enough. I pointed out that there are a lot of good people in the world who do wonderful things and they aren’t Christian. He said they will burn in hell. I pointed out that the bible has a lot of gaps and inaccuracies. He said it’s the literal word of God. I won’t bore you with the rest of it, but it ended with some yelling.

To me, Mary Magdalene proves the bible shouldn’t be taken literally. There are parts of the bible that got left out for political reasons, called the Apocrypha. Some of the Apocrypha indicate that Mary Magdalene was more than simply a friend or disciple of Jesus. Most folks with brains now know she wasn’t a prostitute. Check this out and you will be amazed. The bible itself says that Mary witnessed the crucifixion and later anointed Jesus’ body. Only family members were allowed to do that, at that time.
It also would’ve been highly unusual for a young rabbi at that time to be unmarried.

So I believe Jesus was probably married. Probably had children, too. You want to disagree, fine. These are details. Whether married or not, I believe in Jesus. John 3:16 doesn’t say anything about “accepting [unmarried] Jesus into your heart.” It just says you have to BELIEVE.

Why hasn’t our president done more about the oil spill? A friend sent me a video showing day-by-day the complete lack of interest Obama has shown in getting the spill cleaned up. He has been too busy campaigning and playing golf.

I love Jon Stewart. Even though he’s a New York Jewish celebrity and I’m a Georgia redneck, I feel like he’s a friend. I LOVED how he skewered the oil spill coverage. His take on it is priceless.

Why hasn’t our president done more about the oil spill? A friend sent me a video showing day-by-day the complete lack of interest Obama has shown in getting the spill cleaned up. He has been too busy campaigning and playing golf.

It sickens me that there are fishermen and people all along the Gulf Coast whose jobs are being seriously threatened by the oil spill, and yet we haven’t seen a huge outpouring of help – or any outpouring hardly at all – as we did for Haiti. Aren’t Americans as important?

Within the first 48 hours of the rig explosion, Obama shouldn’t been on the phone to the BP CEO, demanding he get it stopped. He should’ve gone there immediately.

Now comes word that the oil regulation industry was incredibly corrupt. Watch the Jon Stewart clip . Why isn’t this story getting wider press?

I did like this story in the Wall Street Journal by Dorothy Rabinowitz [The Alien in the White House] about Obama’s many shortcomings. Finally, the mainstream press is starting to catch on to what everyone in the country has realized – in electing Obama, we were duped. He’s a figurehead.

I have come to despise Obama to such an extent that I HOPE this oil spill crisis will have one positive effect – I hope it will be Obama’s Watergate!
