Greed baffles me.

People who have money tend to want more. And they want it to the point that they think they NEED more. They worship at the alter of money. Whereas I meet people who actually need money and those people never really get too greedy about it. It seems that greed grows when around more greed.

I can’t help but think about CEOs of big companies. They guys in their suits and ties going out to super expensive bars for super expensive drinks, trapped in that lifestyle. They can’t help but spend big because they earn big. They don’t earn all that money only to buy packs of Ramen Noodles, so I’m not sure if greed is entirely the person or if it is its own entity.

I do notice that old guys who have a lot of money tend to get greedier than younger guys. Younger rich guys are just assholes, but rich old guys are panicking and decide they need ALL of the money. So maybe its age plus money divided by memories of poor life equals greedy fuckers. I hope I never get too rich.

Why would anyone believe that a calendar made by an ancient civilization is predicting the end of our world? Those crazy little fuckers could barely keep dressed, and I doubt they predicted the end of days.

I recall Y2K clearly, and I recall that machines did NOT shut down mankind as we know it, and I’m certain that the world will keep on turning well after December 20, 2012. I also have the advantage of winning no matter what. Since I’m generally a good person, if the end of the world comes in 2012, then I think I’ll at least get into some low level of heaven where I only get wings and I have to share a cloud. And if the world doesn’t end in 2012, then I get to continue being awesome.

I also have doubts about the second coming. I’m pretty sure if it hasn’t happened yet then I doubt it will happen anytime soon, if ever. Think about it: all these “miracles” happened centuries ago, but then they don’t happen again? Yeah, pretty sure it never happened and never will.

I understand that having two political parties can be helpful to see multiple sides of the issues. But what I see is people from each side who flat out refuse to see the other side of ANY issue. That seems counterproductive to me when the two sides who should theoretically be working together do the exact opposite of working together.

Also, I’m pretty sure people would be divided over the issues anyway, but if we didn’t have a two party system then maybe the divide wouldn’t be as intense. Maybe it’sjust me being crazy, but I really think I should be able to watch five minutes of a news program without seeing a political attack at the expense of either side. I would give an example, but there are too many to choose from, my mind reels with the options.

That’s all I had, I’m not REALLY too up to date on politics. The two parties that can’t get along are the Loyalists and the Patriots, right? Or was it the Torries?

Can someone explain to me why women are insane?

That question is not serious of course, because NO ONE can explain women. Not even other women. And it doesn’t work to say that guys are insane too, because guys are simply stupid. They just don’t know any better.

Don’t get me wrong I understand that women have hormones that pretty much dictate how they think and react to, well, everything. But that doesn’t mean guys can be ready to adhere to every subtle change in the woman’s attitude.

Men don’t have the equipment to handle such sensitive changes in tone. We have equipment to make farts funny. And let me tell you, farts are ALWAYS funny. Right ladies?

But I digress. Women are crazy and guys get punished. Don’t believe me? Live with a woman and then leave the seat up. Oh the howling over how the seat needs to be down at all times. Now I’m no anatomy expert, but do women lack the ability to look down before sitting down? Can they not LOOK at a toilet before thinking “I should put that seat down before I make water.” Because women say “make water”. But it seems rather insane (see what I did there?) that the guy should be responsible for the toilet at all times. And that’s just too much responsibility for any human.

Also most women approve of Sex and the City, when The A-Team is clearly superior. So if anyone can, explain to me the fairer sex.

How can shows like Arrested Development get cancelled in their prime, but shows like Jersey Shore get renewed without any hesitation? I want to understand it, but this insanity is beyond my comprehension.

It’s simple to dismiss my ranting as a fan of Doug missing the good old days. But consider this: how many shows on TV today can NOT be labeled as “reality television”? I don’t know the actual number, so I’m going to say 3 out of a million. And how many traditional shows get cancelled after half a season? Again, I have no clue, so I’ll estimate by saying all the good ones.

An excellent example of all those shows based on the REAL desperate housewives of “Enter city here.” I was content to keep quiet before, but I hear Washington DC, the

city I grew up near and our nation’s capital is going to host a version of the real housewives. If I wind up in the background of one of these shows I am going to burst a blood vessel in rage. I hate you television.

Now I’m not the utmost authority, but I’m pretty sure bitching about SNL while praising Jersey Shore is a small step in what may be killing television as an art form. Why pay talented actors, writers, and directors good money for an intelligent and well done production? It’s far cheaper and easier to pay “writers”, attention whores, and awful examples of regular Americans half the cost and pass it off as television. I just wish executives would think about the customer and not their profit margin.

Seriously, Jersey Shores makes me weep gasoline tears, it pains me that much. That is all.

Support good television by sending me money to get drunk with.
